Jaguar Classic Car Show parks up in Plymouth
Jag-lovers will be in for a treat this summer as owners show off their cars in this year’s Jaguar Classic Car Show in the Barbican and Sutton Harbour.
From 10am to 4pm on Sunday 10 August people can admire and explore the Jaguars which will range from 50s classics through to modern day collections.
The cars will be displayed along The Barbican Parade, Quay Square and West Pier with the owners on hand to answer questions and show off their historic motors. There will be an award for the best looking car in the show.
Ian Lock, Chairman of the Devon Region Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, said: “We are very pleased to be invited to return as a club and our members are proud to be able to show their cars off to the public.
Waterfront Manager, Sarah O’Leary, said: “This is the third year we’ve welcomed the cars to the historic quayside providing a perfect backdrop and we’re looking forward to seeing them return. The show is very impressive and tours the country – attracting many visitors, which really enhances the city’s cultural events calendar and brings additional custom into waterfront businesses.
“Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, working with Plymouth City Council, has put on the hugely popular Pirates Weekend and funded the Barbican International Jazz & Blues Festival, attracting thousands of visitors to the quayside. We’re also working on the Plymouth Seafood Festival for September and a Thanksgiving celebration for November. All of these events showcase Plymouth’s Waterfront and appeals to visitors across a wide range of age groups, providing something for all the family.”
