BBC Radio Devon has today (Tuesday 28 June) announced that Janet Kipling has been appointed as the station’s Lunchtime Presenter on a permanent bases.

Janet, who took over from Bill Buckley earlier this year, has a long-standing history with the BBC that first started 23 years ago at BBC Somerset, before moving to BBC Radio Devon in 1993 as a reporter, producer and then presenter of the Afternoon Show.

Janet Kipling said: “I’m delighted to be coming home to BBC Radio Devon after all these years. The station is in new and vibrant shape, technology has transformed our studios, and our listeners now connect with us through myriad different social media channels as well as on air. But I still believe in the basics; encouraging people to share their experiences, stories and opinions about life in Devon, getting stuck in to intelligent debate about the big stories of the day, celebrating the good things in life and having a laugh at the little things whenever we can along the way.”

Mark Grinnell, Editor of BBC Radio Devon said: “I am very excited that Janet is joining the team on permanent basis, she is well-known and a loved voice amongst BBC Radio Devon listeners. Janet is an accomplished presenter, having hosted and co-hosted programmes on the station over the years. She has a warm presenting style – but doesn’t lack challenge when appropriate and she can deftly link between news and music.”

Janet Kipling will present the Mid-Afternoon Show every weekday from 1pm – 4pm on BBC Radio Devon, 103.4FM | 95.7FM | DAB.
