This autumn, walkers and their four legged friends will be able to enjoy Buckland Abbey’s autumn colour for longer as the estate is open throughout November for the first time.

The National Trust estate, garden, restaurant and shop will now be open daily from 10.30am until 4pm, so that walkers can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the woodland walks and finish off with a warming bowl of homemade soup in the restaurant.

Doug Mumford, Area Ranger, said: ‘With far-reaching views of the Tavy Valley, crunchy leaves underfoot in the woodlands and the leaves showing their late autumn colours, the Buckland estate is beautiful this time of year. Now with extended opening in November, I’m pleased that we can offer more chances for our visitors to come and experience Buckland’s glorious autumn colour.’

One of the National Trust’s charitable aims is to manage land such as the Buckland Abbey estate for the benefit of nature and to work with others to restore the health and beauty of the countryside and bring back wildlife to these places.

Normal admission charges apply to visit Buckland Abbey’s garden and woodland walks. National Trust members visit for free.
