Around 300 guests recently enjoyed the CHICKS SkyBall at The Holiday Inn, Plymouth, raising over £28,000 for the Tavistock-based charity.

Guests were treated to classic James Bond style martinis on arrival, a three course meal and live music from funk and soul band, The Cuckoo Collective.

In keeping with the Bond theme, guests were also invited to pose with a BMW i8 sports car worth £94,000.

Event organiser, Sarah Roberts, said: ‘‘It was a fantastic night and we’re delighted that it raised such a huge amount for CHICKS.

‘‘It was great to see so many people get into theme with stunning floor length dresses and stylish tuxedos.

‘‘I’d like to thank everyone that attended and supported the event. The fact that we were able to raise over £28,000 is absolutely incredible and it will go a long way in helping CHICKS to provide free respite breaks for disadvantaged children.’’

Other activities on the night included a silent auction, raffle and live auction which included two return flights to New York with Virgin Atlantic.

CHICKS is a children’s charity that provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK.

Since its inception in 1992, CHICKS has provided over 12,000 children with a much needed break in the south west.
