Devon-based Blue Chip Holidays, the South West’s largest provider of four- and five-star self catering holiday homes, is celebrating taking on its 1,000th property, putting it well on its way to achieving its ambitious growth targets for the year.

Team members from Exeter, Brixham and across the South West came together for its quarterly business planning meeting, at which the landmark announcement was made by Sylvia Cutting, who established the business in Brixham 14 years ago. Surprise celebrations followed with the team gathering together to toast the achievement.

The addition of its 1,000th property came less three months after new managing director Allan Lambert joined the business at the end of March.

Commenting on this landmark achievement he said: “The team has done a fantastic job of finding and bringing on board such a broad range of excellent new properties to the portfolio.

“In the past two months alone we have expanded into Yorkshire, added over 200 properties to our books and taken thousands of bookings. Together, this has helped us to achieve record bookings levels for our owners.

“Today gave us the opportunity to come together and acknowledge exactly what we have achieved and to recognise everyone in the team that has played a role in helping us to break through 1,000 properties. Having Sylvia here gave real context to this as the team were able to look back on how the business has grown from only a handful of apartments in Brixham in 2000, to over 1,000 high end properties across the country today.”

Lambert added: “Our goal is to take Blue Chip Holidays from being a regional leader to becoming a national leader, establishing ourselves as the premium provider of four- and five-star self catering properties across the UK. This year alone we have added some incredible properties increasing the portfolio by more than 14%. This success is testament to our efforts to support and represent our owners, helping them to achieve exceptional bookings for their properties. We’re very proud of our work and the trust that our owners put in us to deliver results for them.”

Blue Chip Holidays’ success in breaking through 1,000 properties follows on from news that it has recently been nominated for the British Travel Awards in the categories of Best UK Cottage/Self Catering Booking Company, and Best Holiday Company for Customer Service 2014. To succeed in these awards Blue Chip Holidays needs votes from members of the public including guests, owners, and businesses that it works with in the region, as only those companies with the most public votes will go on to win these prestigious national awards.
