It’s ‘game-on’ with Bigwave media announcing the ‘Bigwave Business Games’ are coming to Plymouth following the success of similar events in Exeter and Torbay. Sponsored by Womble Bond Dickinson and raising monies for St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, we are calling on all Plymouth businesses to get involved. Applications are now open for local organisations to compete head-to-head in a range of exciting, team-driven activities comprising a mixture of mental, social and physical challenges open to all businesses across the Ocean City.

Bigwave media, one of the largest creative growth agencies in the South West with offices in Plymouth, Exeter and Torquay are kick-starting the inaugural Plymouth games at a launch event on Tuesday 6th August at The Treasury Bar with all welcome to come and find out more about this exciting inaugural event. Hosted at various venues across the city, the games will commence on 17th September consisting six fun events including a treasure hunt, Clip n Climb, golf, short tennis, mini Olympics and a pub quiz. An awards ceremony will be hosted at Kitley House in November.

Glen King, PR Director – Bigwave media said: “The Bigwave Business Games have been running in Exeter for over a decade and growing in popularity, year on year. As a result of this success, we launched in Torquay earlier this year and we are thrilled to now be coming to Plymouth in the autumn. At Bigwave media we passionately believe in giving back to the community and are proud to say that the Bigwave Business Games in Exeter and Torquay has raised over £32,000 for local worthy causes. For the first time we are bringing the Bigwave Business Games to Plymouth and want to encourage local businesses to help make it the biggest games ever and raise monies for St. Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, an independent charity providing specialist care and support to people with progressive life-limiting illnesses, across the South West.”

Sarah Brown, Client Partnership Manager – Bigwave media Plymouth adds: “I’m thrilled that we are launching Bigwave Business Games in Plymouth. It will be a fantastic sporting event suitable for all abilities and the emphasis is on fun and supporting a healthy life/work balance. It’s also a great opportunity to bring businesses from across the city together in a competitive environment.” She adds: “I want to take this opportunity to thank our Headline sponsors Womble Bond Dickinson and all the wonderful event hosts for their support and enthusiasm to be part of this exciting new venture.”

Nicola Keen, Corporate Partnerships - St. Luke’s Hospice Plymouth concludes: St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth are delighted to be the charity partners of the Bigwave Business games launching in Plymouth. We are also really excited that one of our charity partners Womble Bond Dickinson are the Headline sponsors of the first ever Plymouth games.” She adds: “As end of life care providers we rely on the support of our local community to be able to provide free end of life care when it is needed. With only 30% of our funding coming from the government we rely on the local community for the rest. The Bigwave Business Games are a great way for Plymouth-based businesses to support St Luke’s whilst also having some fun.”
