According to recent research, graduates regret going to university due to debt, and half reckon they would have landed their current job without having to study for a degree.

Someone who is working to ensure she gets the best out of her time at university is Geography student Katie Parker, 18.

When she first started studying, Kate was struggling to pay travel costs from her home in Newton Abbot to University in Plymouth and so looked around for opportunities to earn money. Katie came across a great opportunity to work hours that suited her and allowed her to run her very own business, something she hadn’t considered possible before.

Katie decided to become an Avon Representative, particularly because of the ability to work her own hours, meet new people and build a business.  “I have found that having my own ready-made business is incredibly convenient, it makes it really easy to organise my time. I have my Uni schedule on my phone, so I can coordinate my studies and work quickly using the new online platform and Facebook”.

“Being a Representative has given me so much confidence and I couldn’t believe how easy it was. I’m able to build and run my business in a way that suits me. I can now easily afford my travel costs to Uni, and I’m even saving for a holiday!”

Katie has customers in both at home in Newton Abbott, and in Plymouth and is able to manage them during the holidays and term time using the new online platform, My Avon Store.
