Burts Potato Chips, makers of premium artisan snacks, has announced its exciting sport sponsorships for the 2016-2017 season, demonstrating the company’s love and support of all things South West. Contracts will roll out with a series of local teams including: Plymouth Raiders basketball team, Plymouth Argyle FC, Exeter Chiefs RFC, Motorbase Performance, Plymouth Grand Fondo and Kingsbridge Rugby Club.

Burts is passionate about Doing It Right in all walks of life – whether it’s choosing the best snack or supporting the best local sporting teams. The partnership programme is part of Burts Do It Right philosophy, raising awareness amongst likeminded South West supporters as well as those who travel further afield and aren’t as familiar with the brand – but enjoy good crisps!

Plymouth Raiders

The renewed arrangement with this up and coming basketball team includes great Burts branding on the court and designated kits. Burts will also sponsor player Cory Dixon, and fans should also keep an eye out for opportunities to meet Cory as part of his contract – he’s tipped to be the MVP. Local fans should save the date for the 23rd October for a snack giveaway alongside the game!

Plymouth Argyle

Burts is proud to be PAFC’s Official Snack Partner and the only crisp supplier at legendary Home Park. Crisps are the food of choice for many when watching football, so Burts will serve as the perfect option for a flavoursome, delicious snacks. Along with the rest of the Green Army, Burts is sponsoring player Gary Miller, whose home shirt will proudly bear Burts’ logo, and you may see Gary soon in Burts attire as part of the contract’s two amazing player appearances in 2017! Supporting the South West community, Burts is delighted to donate exclusive match-day tickets to a local school or charity in the coming year, presented by Gary.

Exeter Chiefs

Burts can’t wat to have another successful year sponsoring Exeter Chiefs and Scottish International player and Chiefs’ Prop Moray Low after their best season to date! Loyal fans of the Rugby Union should keep a look out, as Burts has been given select tickets to games – and no need to get into a scrum to fight for them, as select competitions and giveaways are planned for the sporting year. Burts Chips will provide the delicious and well-deserved fuel for Low and the team, along with all the Chiefs fans at Sandy Park Stadium.

Motorbase

Following a successful 2015 partnership, Burts is zooming back to the British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) for the 2016-2017 season as one of the official sponsors of the Motorbase Performance squad. Burts will also be offering crisp-packed hospitality to guests at the last round at Brands Hatch in October.

James Allen
Burts will continue to sponsor talented professional golfer, James Allan, who will make his debut at the European Tour which started in February. The rising star will wear the Burts logo on his shirt and hat during all games in 2016.

Kingsbridge Rugby

Finally, Burts will be the shirt sponsor for Kingsbridge Rugby Club throughout all games in the 2016 season. There’s a touch of nostalgia here, as Burts was first made in Kingsbridge, and is delighted to bring things full circle in its support of this local team. This amateur club is full of the same ‘Do It Right’ passion that first inspired Burts to make its premium potato chips nearly 19 years ago. It must be something in the South Devon air!

Simon Knight, marketing and sales director at Burts Chips, comments: “We are yet again delighted to announce our sponsorship agreements with all of our sporting partners for the 2016-2017 season. Crisps have always been an essential snack for spectator and sporting fans, so Burts are excited to continue to serve our delicious snacks throughout all of the stadiums.”
All sponsorships will be integrated into the brand’s wider marketing, PR, social media and digital campaigns for 2016/17 in the form of consumer competitions and additional sporting activities.
