Three killed in A38 crash

Police have confirmed that three people have died as a result of a collision this afternoon on the A38 close to Plymouth.  Their families have been informed.

At around 3.50pm on Monday 5 June police received a report of a serious collision involving one vehicle on the Plymouth-bound carriageway of the A38 around a mile before Marsh Mills roundabout.

A white van overturned and no other vehicles are thought to have been involved.   Collision investigators are at the scene carrying out a through investigation and the whole Plymouth-bound carriageway, along with lane three of the Exeter-bound carriageway is expected to remain closed for most of the night.

A full diversion is in place at the Deep Lane junction (Plympton exit).

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and follow any police diversions and expect delays.
