Monday 26 September saw the grand reopening of Kwik Fit in Plymouth.

The company has made a significant investment in the centre, and it has been fully refurbished from the garage floor up. Local Councillor,  Brian Vincent was in attendance to meet the team at and officially declared the centre open to the public.

The Plymouth centre was chosen for this investment from Kwik Fit’s UK network of over 600 centres because of the commitment the staff have made in serving the local community. It is also a sign of the company’s confidence in both the existing strength and potential demand in the area.

Customers will immediately see the impact of the investment as the reception area has been completely redesigned to promote a more welcoming and customer-friendly environment.

Kwik Fit’s highly-skilled professionally trained staff can sit down with each customer and discuss their individual requirements – whether it’s a simple tyre check or a full service. And as a result of the investment, the centre now has specialist laser wheel alignment equipment that allows a car’s four wheels to be aligned as per the manufacturer’s specification.

The revamped centre will also continue to offer the full range of Kwik Fit services including tyres, exhausts, brakes, MoT testing, car servicing, air-con and windscreen repair.

This Saturday, 01 October, the centre will be marking the investment with a host of deals, including up to 50 per cent off selected products and services for its customers.

Councillor Brian Vincent said: “The investment that Kwik Fit has poured into the local centre is very good news for Plymouth and its motorists. The city is very fortunate that the Alexandra Road centre, was selected for refurbishment with all the latest technology and equipment.

“It’s commendable that there’s an apprenticeship scheme in place to give young people a helping hand by creating jobs and giving them some valuable career skills. I hope young people in Plymouth will see the benefit and apply for the programme.”

The centre manager of Kwik Fit Plymouth, Clive Harkin, said: “It’s given the staff a real boost that our hard work has been recognised, and that our centre has been given major investment. All the team at the Plymouth branch take great pride in our work and now we have a working environment that matches our ambition to deliver the best possible service.

“It’s also good news for the community because we are now armed with top of the range equipment that will allow us to serve our customers even better than before. We are all really excited and can’t wait to get going.”

It’s not just the centre, machines and tools that Kwik Fit has invested in. The company is looking to take on 200 apprentices this year. Any young people in Plymouth who are interested in finding out more about the programme can visit: http://careers.kwik-fit.com/apprentice-application-form.asp.
