As part of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, Plymouth’s Crowne Plaza hotel has been commended with a silver award for its ongoing support of the defence community.

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme commends businesses who actively support the defence community by employing at least one member of the armed forces which includes reservists, cadet forces adult volunteers, a service leaver or a military spouse.

The Crowne Plaza in Plymouth was one of only twenty-six companies in the South West region to be recognised for this award, and their continued support of the defence community, and one of only four companies in Devon.

Kevin Byrnes, General Manager, Crowne Plaza Plymouth, commented “We are delighted with the silver award we have received as part of the Defence Employer Recognition scheme.  Plymouth has such strong connections with the armed forces and we are always keen to support them as much as we can.  Of course, our next step is to build upon this year’s success and work towards a Gold award for 2018.”
