Cyber Security Consultation at Plymouth Science Park

Plymouth Science Park tenants are asking the west country business community to come forward with their experience of cyber fraud.

Devon and Cornwall Business Council, who recently relocated their HQ to Plymouth Science Park, will be holding a half-day conference to discuss the subject.

Up to thirty spaces are available for the morning talk session at Plymouth Science Park, using their conferencing facilities, to discuss how to make sure business is resilient to cyber attacks.

Research shows that 98% of tested web apps are vulnerable to attack,  75% of directors of
businesses are not involved in the review of cyber security risks, online banking fraud increases
48% year on year, and in 2015 there was a 144% increase in successful cyber attacks on
businesses.

“So whether you are already thinking about it or haven’t had chance to consider how you protect yourself, this focus group meeting could be just what you’re looking for,” says Chloe Parker from Devon and Cornwall Business Council.

“The purpose of the table discussions is to allow us to understand more about the issues that businesses are aware of and indeed actively facing up to, which will enable us to develop the right support in partnership with Devon and Cornwall police which will aid you and your business to be better protected in this increasingly sophisticated world of cyber security.”

The morning will comprise a presentation from Kate Doodson of Cosmic on ‘Becoming Web Safe’, followed by table-based discussions.
