Garden waste collections start again

Plymouth City Council’s popular garden waste collection will begin again from next week.

The collection operates every fortnight, collected on the same day as either refuge or recycling, depending on the area of the city. Residents are asked to check their garden waste collection day using the online calendar.

Barratt Homes reinforces position as the UK’s most recommended housebuilder

Local housebuilder Barratt Homes has received the maximum 5 star rating in the new Home Builders Federation (HBF) annual New Homes Survey.

The number of stars awarded is based on responses to the question “would you recommend your builder to a friend?” For Barratt to have been awarded 5 stars means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend their homes to a friend.

Poetry competition at Plympton Academy

A poetry competition organised by staff at Plympton Academy, to remember the late astronomer Patrick Moore, has received almost 100 entries.

Young people from across Plymouth put pen to paper and sent in their poems inspired by the astronomers own poetry. The winning five were presented with their medals and their prize by Lord Mayor Wendy Foster and her consort Cllr Ken Foster....
